Dr. Paula Cerveny received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Waterloo. During her training, she completed assessments for youth at Lutherwood-CODA and completed assessments and intervention at the Anxiety Treatment Research Centre at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton. She completed her residency at the Alberta Children’s Hospital where she worked primarily in Child Abuse, Mental Health, and Pediatric Health clinics. Dr. Cerveny also has experience working with youth involved with Children’s Aid and those placed in out of home settings and their caregivers (foster parents, adoptive parents, group homes, residential settings) as she was the Director of a residential program for pre-adolescents with complex mental health and behavioural issues in Calgary, Alberta. While in Alberta, Dr. Cerveny also worked as a contract Psychologist for the Calgary Board of Education.
Dr. Cerveny has recently returned to Ontario and is currently working part-time for Norfolk Psychological Services, as well as for the Upper Grand District School Board completing psychological and psycho-educational assessments and consultation.
Dr. Cerveny sees children and youth for comprehensive mental health and psycho-educational assessments. She provides detailed recommendations in regards to learning, attention, behaviour, and social-emotional functioning. Dr. Cerveny is also interested in providing treatment for children, youth, and families for anxiety, abuse, depression, behaviour, parenting, and relationship issues. She works primarily from a cognitive-behavioural orientation.
